“Faden Quartz is a descriptive term for a usually tabular group of quartz crystals with a white thread-like zone running throughout the interior. The term fadein is a German word for “thread”. (Mineralogical Society of America) This piece is a textbook example of Faden Quartz, with several long chains of these tabular groups and perfect terminations – the tallest chain has a textbook termination – doesn’t get much better. This is an incredible piece, and I have scoured this piece up and down and I can’t find even the slightest ding.
